Yalova University Energy Systems Engineering students made a technical trip to Ortadoğu Energy Odayeri Electric Energy Production Facility on April 19. 30 students participated in the technical trip organized by the Energy Systems Engineering Student Union (ESMOB) Club. Process manager Çetin YENİ, Industrial Engineer Serkan Çakmak and Environmental Engineer Murat Çetindemir contributed to our students' technical knowledge by sharing their knowledge and experience about the project and facility with our students. In this way, our students had the opportunity to see how they can benefit from business life in their education.
Ortadoğu Energy; With the slogan of "Environmentally Friendly Energy Production", it realized the "Electricity Generation from Landfill Gas" project, which is the largest in Europe and the top ten in the world in Istanbul. These projects are; İSTAÇ A.Ş., a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. It covers the establishment of a facility with a capacity of 33.8 MW in the “European Side Kemerburgaz-Odayeri Solid Waste Regular Storage Area” and a facility with a capacity of 16.9 MW in the “Anatolian Side Şile-Kömürcüoda Area”. With the systems established within the scope of these projects, the greenhouse gas effect caused by methane gas, which occurs in storage areas and is 28 times more harmful than carbon dioxide, is prevented. Ortadoğu Energy contributes to an annual reduction of approximately 2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
